Our Gesha Natural from Risaralda comes from the current winner 2019 COE Colombia.

Mikava received the 2019 Colombia North Cup of Excellence First Place in this prestigious competition. Our Gesha/Geisha natural, carbonic maceration processed coffee broke two records. One, receiving the highest score in the 16 year history of the Colombian Cup of Excellence, a 92.71 and the other, the first time a natural processed coffee won the event.

The variety of this coffee is a Gesha obtained directly from Panama

 Process

Anaerobic fermentation, carbonic maceration, sun dried, finished in solar dryer (Invernadero).

 Screen size

Screen size normally is a 16+, although the COE winner included all sizes.

Meet Bartosz Ciepaj, @bartosz_ciepaj. His description of our natural Gesha: “My notes are peach blossom, apricot, tropical fruits, the flavour notes was something that I liked the most. The coffee was super clean and had an amazing medium-high body. Which was by far the highest that I gave in the competition”. He gave our coffee an incredible 96.5.
 
Meet another International judge at this year’s Cup of Excellence, @ryryfisher. His description of our first placed coffee: “Flavor- Sprite, cherry, strawberry, blackberry, maple syrup, fantastic sweetness and very clean with a complex fruit acidity and long clean finish. Score- 92.5
 
Meet Katalina Shkola. Katalina loves our Gesha! Here’s how she described our Gesha: “It is an amazing unique coffee! Aroma - super bright and elegant, bergamot, sweet lime and pineapple. Mouthfeel - creamy. Acidity structure - sweetness of fresh sugarcane juice. Flavor - bergamot, flowers and berries, passionfruit, apricot, kiwi, sweet aloe drink, and pineapple. Aftertaste - long, pleasant, refreshing. Score - 93.5
 
Meet Sally Cha. Another judge at the 2019 Colombia Cup of Excellence was Sally Cha, @delicator, General Manager with Able Coffee Group in South Korea. Her description of our winning natural Gesha: “Jasmine, stone fruit, blueberry, chamomile, black tea, malic and complex acidity, sweet, clean, well-balanced.” This was her TOP scoring coffee at the Colombian COE, 92 points. 
 
 Meet Denmark’s Soren Sylvest. Another judge at the 2019 Colombia North Cup of Excellence that we had the pleasure of meeting was Soren Sylvest @sorensylvest.dk. He visited our finca in Marsella after the competition to have another taste of our coffee. Señor Sylvest scored our coffee with his second highest score in his cupping career. His description: " COE co Winner profile notes: Super clean, sweet, complex, well structured, juicy lychee and bergamot.” Score an unbelievable  97.
